Road Transportation and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader welcomed the prime minister with a speech during the reception at the airport. Quader described Hasina as the ‘lighthouse of distressed humanity’ and the ‘mother of humanity’ for her handling of the Rohingya crisis. "Leaders of the Awami League and its affiliates will be on the two sides of the street from the airport to Ganabhaban," he had added. Crowds of Awami League supporters were seen lining the streets near the prime minister’s office. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has promised there will be 'no public sufferings due to the reception'.
