Despite the increasing prevalence of chikungunya amongst the populace, the authorities have done little in terms of prevention. This is doubly tragic because we are equipped with a perfectly adequate dengue prevention program, which can be utilised to battle the spread of chikungunya. But the problem remains that there is little to no coordination between the program and the city corporations concerned. This is no way to battle the outbreak of a disease. With chikungunya having no discernible cure, we must also put our resources into research and improve our management of the disease.
