President M Abdul Hamid on Sunday asked everyone, irrespective of religions and caste, to work together in building a non-communal Bangladesh, envisioned by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Instead of worldly happiness, the President said Jesus Christ emphasized the attainment of eternal happiness through sacrifice, temperance and charity. He also taught peaceful coexistence among people including love, service, forgiveness and justice, the President added. The bond of friendship existing between all will deepen in days to come, Abdul Hamid hoped. State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan, MP, Dhaka Archbishop Bejoy Nicephorus D'Cruz, President of Bangladesh Christian Association Nirmal Rosario and other community dignitaries and religious leaders attended the reception.
