President Duterte pleads peace with everybodyDuring his speech at Fort Magsaysay, Tuesday, President Rodrigo Dutete pleaded peace with everybody. “Pag naka-konekta pa rin sila [MNLF at MILF] sa Abu Sayyaf, I don’t think there will be a significant result,” he disclosed. Ending his speech, Duterte re-assured the troops that he will protect them in their duty and that starting next month, there will be an increase in their salary. According to Duterte, a strong armed forces and a military that can protect the people and the integrity of the republic are needed to achieve lasting peace. According to the President, the declaration was not solely his decision and that he and his government will be ready for instant failure.
