He was awarded with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Lion for his immense contribution in maintaining bilateral relations with Senegal at a meeting held at the Presidential Palace, on Tuesday, May 16,2017. The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, left Ghana on Monday, May 15, 2017, to begin the second phase of his official working visits to the countries of the ECOWAS region. He was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway MP, and officials of the Presidency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
