An award-winning Putāruru cheese factory isn’t about to let uncertainty around Covid-19 alert levels catch it out a second time. But owner Sue Arthur said putting a plan in place around lessons learnt has put her company in a good position this time. “[Having] gone through level 4 last year we used that knowledge earlier this year to develop a level 4 plan just in case we needed it. “Our cheesemakers are helping out in other areas of the business and also taking a bit of time off while they can. We will get through this together eventually.”As for her go-to lockdown cheese, Arthur said it was like trying to pick “your favourite chocolate”.
