Green thumbs back in action at level 3

Diacks Nurseries owners Greg and Liz Diack loading trolleys with seasonal plants to sell via an honesty box outside their Diacks Nursery business in level 3 restrictions on Wednesday. Under level 3 restrictions, nurseries are preparing to operate click and collect contactless orders and honesty boxes across Southland from Wednesday morning as they gear up for the busy spring season. Neighbouring Retail Group chairman Ben Fokkens said that, for retail, there was not a lot of difference between alert level 3 and alert level 4 restrictions. His business, Shoe Clinic Invercargill, was able to deliver during level 4 as running and exercise shoes were classed as an essential mental health service and would be continuing through level 3. “It’s still not like having the doors open and serving the customers in the shop, it’s mainly repeat customers,” he said.
