Weeks after suffering as the campaign punching bag for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberals, Premier Doug Ford is headed to Ottawa for peace talks. Ford, who was on the receiving end of a rhetorical barrage that helped Trudeau win 79 of Ontario’s 121 federal seats on Oct. 21, wants to “collaborate” with the Liberals. To that end, he will travel to the capital Friday to meet the prime minister in his office. The olive branch to Ottawa cames after Trudeau hammered Ford for weeks during the campaign in order to link federal Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer to an Ontario premier that polls suggest is not popular.
