Share TweetBy Leslie AquinoA Catholic Church official on Thursday said Labor Undersecretary Joel Maglunsod’s dismissal was “very unfortunate.”Bishop Broderick Pabillo of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on the Laity said Maglunsod understood the plight of workers. “Joel Maglunsod is really pro labor,” the Manila Auxiliary prelate said in an interview. “He is the hope of many organized labor groups to defend their cause in the Department of Labor and Employment,” added Pabillo who is also the Church Labor Conference chairperson. Renato Magtubo, co-chair for labor of CLC, also lamented the dismissal of Maglunsod whom he said is a great loss to the labor department.
