According to a report by the Daily Graphic newspaper, the woman had reported to the facility Friday, May 29, for her regular antenatal checks, however, two doctors and a number of nurses on duty abandoned her. After about seven hours' wait, when other staff at the health facility had informed the Western Regional Heath Directorate of the woman’s condition, she received attention, according to the report. She was subsequently transported to the Western Regional Referral Hospital, Effia-Nkwanta, where she delivered her baby over the weekend, the reported added. The unnamed woman is currently being taken care of by a team of paediatric specialists who are guiding her to manage herself and the child.
