Kahiga said the county cannot invest all that money to prepare the children for a bright future, only for parents to abdicate their responsibilities. “It is very annoying because this is taxpayers’ money we are using to pay their school fees, only for the children to come back home pregnant,” he said on Friday. The society and parents should take up their mantle and have fathers talk to their sons while mothers talk to their daughters. He urged the students to work hard and be focused on their studies, saying this is a rare opportunity. He said while the county government supports the learners with fees and books, the parents should continue providing pocket money and other necessities.
