A power pole was left leaning over the road after being hit by a car on the Beaumont Highway yesterday evening. A police spokeswoman said officers were called about 9pm to the crash 8km out of Lawrence, heading towards Wanaka. The female driver sustained minor injuries while the power pole was left at a bit of an angle, but not blocking the road or sparking, she said.
