Postmedia’s journalists have been nominated for 14 National Newspaper Awards, which recognize excellence in daily newspaper work in Canada. Also nominated were the National Post’s Douglas Quan, for his explanatory work on how the city of Richmond, B.C. “This year’s nominations reflect the excellent work that is being done in our newsrooms across the country,” said Lucinda Chodan, vice-president editorial for Postmedia. The National Newspaper Awards, celebrating their 70th year, will be handed out at a ceremony in Toronto on May 3. The awards are given to daily newspapers, news agencies and online news sites the NNA board of governors approve for entry.
