DA federal council chairperson Helen Zille has been accused of frustrating a deal among opposition parties to topple the ANC-led coalition government in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. Sources have told News24 that Zille's push for the party to occupy the mayor and speaker position as "if they won the elections" has been met with fierce opposition. Zille has previously denied that she wants to be mayor, but recently the rumours have resurfaced.
