PORT DICKSON: Police have urged individuals who have allegedly been duped by a legal firm here to come forward and lodge reports. "On Jan 10, we received a report from a government servant claiming she was cheated by the firm when she bought a house. Supt Aidi said checks also showed that police had received four reports against the firm in 2018, seven in 2019 and four in January this year. In the case involving the civil servant, Supt Aidi said the victim had applied for a RM120,000 government loan to buy her mother's house in Bandar Sunggala in Teluk Kemang here for RM80,000. Supt Aidi said the case was being probed under Section 409 of the Penal Code for committing breach of trust, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, whipping and a fine upon conviction.
