Political parties have expressed concern over the tension prevailing in the four hill districts. Manipur will go to the polls in two phases on March 4 and 8 to elect 60 legislators. After some political parties expressed concern, the Election Commission decided to send a team to Imphal to review the situation, an official source said. The ministry has facilitated a dialogue between state government officials and representatives of the UNC in New Delhi on Friday. This will be the first round of meeting between the state government and the UNC after the blockade was imposed.
