Khehar directed the authorities to make all arrangements to send the girl back to Leicestershire, where her mother Beata Agnieszka Sobieraj resides. Himachal Pradesh High Court had earlier turned down her plea and granted her only "visitation rights". Armed with the UK court orders on March 1, 2015, the mother filed a habeas corpus petition before Himachal Pradesh High Court seeking a direction to the authorities to produce her child. However, the high court in March this year dismissed her petition on the ground that the child was not keen on joining her mother in the UK. The woman appealed in the apex court, which set aside the high court order and directed that she be sent back to her mother.
