A police officer dropped a piece of pepperoni pizza onto the meal of a Jewish officer leaving it unfit for her to eat, a hearing was told. Sergeant Gary Jacobs, 43, dangled the slice of pizza as a 'joke' but a piece of pepperoni then dropped onto her meal. As a result the officer, who is Jewish and observes a Kosher diet, was unable to finish her meal. But he approached her meal and dangled a slice of pizza over it causing a bit of pepperoni to fall onto her meal. They were concerned the incident could have constituted a 'hate crime' against the Jewish officer.
