Stokes, who suffered a fractured hand in the incident in Bristol on September 25, was released without charge pending further investigation. Alex Hales, who was also present, has given a statement to the police about the alleged brawl but is, according to his lawyer, unlikely to face any charges. Both players remain “ineligible” for England selection while the police and ECB investigations are continuing.
