Police are seeking witnesses of an assault in the Christchurch suburb of Mairehau on Wednesday. It is believed the people involved were unknown to each other, and the female offender left the scene in a vehicle soon after the assault. Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the assault. In particular, they are keen to speak to a cyclist who was observed passing the scene during the assault, and who may have information which can assist the investigation.
