Police are looking for a man who tried to rob the Discounter Dairy in Ashburton on Saturday. A man tried to rob an Ashburton dairy while armed with a tyre iron, but fled empty-handed. Emergency services were called to the Discounter Dairy on Alford Forest Rd about 9.30am on Saturday. A police spokeswoman said a man walked into the dairy wearing a balaclava, wielding a tyre iron and demanding money. The dairy was also targeted in April when a man armed with a long-barrelled gun entered the store and demanded money.
