The NM Joshi Marg police probing the case of fire at Kamala Mills, in which 14 persons died and 16 others were injured, have recorded statements of Kamala mills owner Ramesh Govani and one of the owners of Mojo's Bistro Yug Tuli in connection with the MRTP cases registered against them. The police also have questioned the father of Abhijeet Mankar, one of the owners of 1Above where the fire had broken out and 14 persons had died. Since the case was registered owners of 1Above, Mankar, Kripesh Sanghavi and Jigar Sanghavi, all of them are absconding however the police claimed that the relatives and family members are not co-operating with the probe and shielding the accused. "We have recorded a statement of Mankar's father, however, he is not co-operating with us and not divulging any details. So far we have recorded statements of all the 35 persons who were working at 1Above," said a police officer.
