The Waikeria crash happened before dawn on September 30, at the intersection of Wharepuhunga Road and Lawry RoadThe names of two people who died in an early-morning crash near Ōtorohanga have been released. Jenny Carpenter, 47, of Ōtorohanga, and 39-year-old James Koroheke, of Te Kūiti, were killed in the collision in Waikeria on September 30, police said. The crash happened at the intersection of Wharepuhunga and Lawry Roads around 4.45am, police said at the time. Those who died were the driver and a passenger in one of the vehicles, a statement said. Police are still investigating the crash.
