(File photo)The man who died while snorkelling at a Southland beach was Richard Hepi Tautari. The 68-year-old from Invercargill died on Saturday at Wakapatu Beach. Colac Bay Tavern and Holiday Park owner Warren Bevin said the area was "generally very safe [for] swimming". The beach was a popular spot with campers for swimming, shellfish gathering, surfing, spearfishing and surfcasting, he said.
