Police nab Korean suspected of breaking into DPP headquarters

Police have apprehended Cho Jun-ki, a 34-year-old South Korean national suspected of stealing NT$90,000 from the Democratic Progressive Party headquarters in Taipei last week. In a disturbing scene, Cho was walked past Taiwan reporters on Saturday as he bowed his head and wailed uncontrollably. Police arrested Cho in the Wulai mountains of New Taipei, along with an unnamed woman identified in local media reports as his girlfriend, a 27-year-old South Korean national. Cho allegedly entered Taiwan's borders on July 31 and broke into the DPP headquarters at Huashan the following day. A search team was then dispatched to the Wulai mountains to run a carpet search.
