Peel Regional Police have arrested a second young Brampton man and charged him with first degree murder in the stick beating that killed another young man on the grounds of a local high school. Guryodh Singh Khattra, 22, was charged Thursday in the brutal daylight attack in front of Sandalwood Heights Secondary School around 6 p.m. Monday. Paviter Singh Bassi, 21, died in hospital Tuesday morning, the day after the assault. Karanvir Singh Bassi, who isn’t related to the victim, was arrested Tuesday and is also charged with first-degree murder. Bassi was near his pickup truck when he was beaten by “multiple suspects” armed with what police described as sticks.
