Police investigating Joey Barton 'attack' at Barnsley match make arrest


It comes after a man reported to a police station today, was arrested and remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing. Barnsley’s German boss Daniel Stendel was left with facial injuries and needing emergency dental treatment after an incident at Oakwell on Saturday. A South Yorkshire Police statement said: "Officers investigating an incident at Barnsley Football Club on Saturday 13 April 2019 have arrested a man on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offence and racially aggravated assault. "Police investigating reports of an assault at Barnsley Football Club on Saturday 13 April are appealing for witnesses as enquiries continue.
