Toronto police have identified the second victim fatally shot over the Victoria Day long weekend. On May 23, police were called at around 11:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting in the area of Cavell Ave. and Pape Ave., south of Danforth Ave. When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found Abdiqani Abshir, 24, of Toronto with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. While investigating that shooting, police said they discovered a second crime scene in a home at 96 Cavell Ave., where a woman was found dead.
