Police have identified a woman found dead in a North York basement apartment Wednesday. Officers initially responded to a call for a well-being check at a home near Yorkdale Crescent and Lovilla Boulevard. Police found Kim Gagne, 33, of Toronto, inside with “significant” injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene and homicide investigators were later called in. Gagne is Toronto’s 36th homicide victim this year.
