Police in several districts across the country have foiled demonstrations of BNP and its affiliate organisations held in protest against the issuance of an arrest warrant for Khaleda Zia. In Bagerhat Sadar upazila, the law enforces also arrested two BNP leaders in the early hours over their suspected involvement in acts of sabotage. Later at noon, Jaityatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jaityatabadi Swechchhasebok Dal also held protest rallies at the same venue. In Noakhali, BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal jointly held a protest rally in front of the Press Club in the town within a police barricade. In Kurigram, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal had brought out a protest procession which was also stopped by police.
