Police have foiled BNP’s black flag program in front of the party’s Nayapaltan office. They also detained about 30 BNP activists, including the party’s joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and central leader Mostafizur Rahman Babul, on Saturday morning. BNP organized the program protesting against the denial of permission to hold a rally in the city on February 22. DMP’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (Motijheel zone) Shibli Noman told the Dhaka Tribune that they had denied the BNP permission to hold rallies. He said occupying city road was not a peaceful program.
