Nelson Bays police Senior Sergeant Scott Richardson said police had found that a large number of people riding motorised pushbikes over the past few years were disqualified drivers. Richardson said petrol-powered bicycles had been a problem in urban areas, particularly in Canterbury but the issue had "migrated around the country".
