The police chief has rejected claims that the police intend to rewrite the history of what happened on July 21 at Yuen Long MTR station last year. Senior sergeant Chan Tin-chu said in yesterday's press briefing that the police had taken 18 minutes to respond. "I think we, as the police, do not have any intention to write or rewrite any history," Tang said. Ten people were charged with obstruction of justice and rioting, including Democratic Party lawmaker Lam Cheuk-ting, said Tang. Lawmaker Lam Cheuk-ting criticized police for turning victims into defendants, in response.
