A 26-year-old Long Beach man jumped to his death after leading California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase early Saturday that began in Claremont and ended in Ontario, authorities said. The driver entered a connector ramp onto the northbound 15 Freeway, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guardrail, authorities said. At that point, the driver hopped out of the car, ran toward the guardrail and jumped from the overpass onto the westbound 10 Freeway below. The driver sped off, reaching speeds of over 120 mph, the CHP said. The Baldwin Park division of the CHP is investigating the incident.
