Police on Monday arrested house owner after her maid was recovered dead from a drain in Iqbal Town a day earlier. House owner Mahrukh was arrested by Iqbal Town police while the postmortem report of Uzma, 16-year-old maid who belonged to Thokar Niaz Baig area, indicated that she had injuries on chest and face. Uzma had been working as maid at Naeem’s house in Iqbal Town for the last eight months. The family and relatives of the girl took the body and kept it on the motorway to register their protest. Later, a police team arrested the couple but the protesters did not disperse even after five hours, leaving the motorway traffic in a mess.
