RAWALPINDI: An old man was killed while five others sustained burn injuries following gas explosions in different localities here on Monday. Rescue 1122 reached the spots and carried out rescue operations. Rescue 1122 Spokesman Farooq Butt said that a gas explosion occurred suddenly in a marriage hall in Mohallah Dhoke Gujran Bhatta chowk. Rescue 1122 advised the residents to properly switch off gas appliances before going to bed to avoid risks of an accident. District Emergency Officer (DEO), Rawalpindi Rescue 1122 Dr Abdul Rehman said that people should ensure that heaters were properly switched off and the gas valve was closed before going to bed to avoid leakage.
