Falgun is the eleventh month in the Bangla calendar and the first month of the spring season. The first day of Falgun is known as Pohela Falgun, which usually falls on February 13 of the Gregorian calendar. Women usually dress themselves in “bashonti” (yellow or orange) coloured saris while men wear colourful panjabis to welcome the season. A spring festival is being celebrated on the premises of Dhaka University's (DU) Faculty of Fine Arts, which is the centre of festivities.
