You’ll find Xperia phones littered throughout the movies it produces and it has previously partnered its smartphones with its gaming consoles. But Sony’s Remote Play never went away - that’s not the issue. The issue is that people aren’t buying Xperia phones, but they are buying everything else Sony makes. One potential solution might be to bundle the next Xperia with the PS5 and offer incentives to use Remote Play on those bundled Xperia devices. A capable mid-range phone with specs geared towards using Remote Play (big battery, 21:9 display, high refresh rate etc) would likely suffice.
