ARCHITECT Liau Wee Chung, 34, has had enough of the recurring flash floods in Lengkok P. Ramlee in Penang. “When my partner first bought this place, we thought this would be a good location for our business. One of them is bookkeeper Mano Cheang, who inherited his father’s house in Lengkok P. Ramlee. Sapno’s car was inundated during the flood in Lengkok P. Ramlee. Sim Gwok Nai, 65, who also lives along Lengkok P. Ramlee, had to wade through floodwaters which rose to about 1.5m at 1.30am on Nov 5.
