Her insurance company advised planned outages were not covered by her policy and Aurora Energy told her it did not provide generators to small businesses during planned power outages. Wanaka Community Board chairman Barry Bruce said the cost to small businesses of the timing of Aurora power outages had not come before the board yet. Ms McNee said Aurora’s obligation under the regulator was to notify retailers at least 10 working days before a planned outage.
