Two people are dead and another is injured after a small plane crashed in Rivière-Mouchalagane in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec late Sunday afternoon. The Sûreté du Québec say a passenger contacted Airmedic at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday to report the crash. Aziz Fikri, the vice-president of communications for Airmedic, told Radio-Canada that a medical team was able to reach the injured passenger by helicopter, but could not land due to the explosion from the crash. Airmedic has not released the identities of the victims or the passenger, who was transported to hospital in the City of Sept-Îles with severe burn injuries. Police say the site of the crash is not accessible by land, but a search and rescue operation is set to begin late Sunday night by police and the Canadian Armed Forces.
