Plan to build 600 homes in GlanmireONE of the biggest single developments in the recent history of Cork city and county could be set to progress in 2018 if the State grants planning. O'Flynn Construction has applied for permission to build more than 600 new homes, a school, retail units and community facilities at a site less than 20km from the city centre. If approval is granted, O'Flynn will construct 608 new units, including 112 apartments and a mix of 496 2, 3 and 4-bed houses. A large number of associated roadworks are also included in the major project, including the development of new junctions, cycle-lanes and road access onto existing routes. While planning permission has been sought for the overall development, the project will be restricted to 400 homes pending the upgrades to the national road network.
