In the 90s, there was a continued expansion of Slovenian AI research, starting with ‘heuristic search' into areas like machine learning and qualitative reasoning. Notable achievements for the Slovenian AI industry and research include ‘The Event Registry’ and ‘COPCAMS’ (cognitive and perceptive cameras). UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay addressed this concern to delegates at a conference on the principles of AI, in Paris last month. But we must ensure that AI is developed through a humanist approach,"The plan for the Slovenian centre is on UNESCO's agenda at its executive board meeting this month.
