Picton's 'Money tree' spreads its leavesFAIRFAX The harbinger of good fortune and cruise ships. The tourism season must have begun because the Picton 'money tree', an Elm tree on the foreshore, has got its first leaves. The leaves coming out is a signal that the busy season for Picton businesses is underway, hence the reference to money. Last tourism season its leaves apparently fell within a week of the final cruise ship of the season. To celebrate the harbinger of money, Picton residents are holding a picnic under the tree at 5.30pm on Wednesday.
