Al-Ahly SC team is heading back to Cairo on board special EgyptAir flight - press photoCAIRO – 12 February 2021: Al-Ahly SC team arrived back to Cairo on board special EgyptAir flight, after they won a historic bronze medal at the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar. The Red Devils were received by the EgyptAir flight crew in Doha by flowers and chocolate and their plane landed amid intensified security measures. Al Ahly defeated Brazilian giants, Palmeiras, 3-2 on penalties in the FIFA Club World Cup third-place playoff to win the bronze medal for the second time in the club’s history. Al Ahly became the first Arab and African club to reach the podium of the prestigious competition on two different occasions, having won the bronze medal in 2006 in Japan. Following the final, Al Ahly players received the bronze medals by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
