Al Ahly football club received a special congratulations from the International and African Confederations after snatching the bronze medal in the FIFA Clubs World Cup on Thursday. Ahly faced Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras from Brazil at the Education City stadium in Doha, as part of the FIFA Club World Cup. FIFA wrote: “Al Ahly wins penalties and takes the bronze medal. Congratulations to Al-Ahly for winning third-place against Brazilian Palmeiras.”The Confederation of African Football (CAF) also congratulated Al Ahly Club for the win on Twitter saying: “For the second time Al Ahly wins the bronze medal in the Club World Cup. The team last won the bronze medal in the same tournament in 2006, after a match against Mexico’s Club America.
