The result is Piano Towns: seven light-filled, freehold townhomes rendered in rustic black brick on top, and white smooth-face architectural block below. Designed by Peter McNeil of George Popper Architect, the homes come to life with steel canopies, recessed porches and big windows, McNeil says. Piano Towns takes its name from its dusky facade, but the layouts also refer to the big piano makers — there’s the Steinway, the Baldwin, the Yamaha etc. “Some of the kitchens have islands that are 14-and-a-half-feet long, so they’re quite big,” Aykler says. “You’re buying in an area that is only getting better.”Prices at Piano Towns start at $1,289,900.
