(generic photo)A physiotherapist has been suspended and fined after he was caught over-billing ACC for treatment - including invoicing for working more than 30 hours in one day. He was a registered ACC provider, meaning he could bill ACC for treating injured clients and receive a fee. ACC treatment providers can choose to be paid per treatment or per hour and Mr S was paid hourly. Mr S was also fined $5000 and ordered to pay 30 per cent of the costs of the hearing.
