The expelled leader was identified as Ashish Nath, general secretary of Chatori Union Awami League under Anwara upazila. In the photo which went viral, Ashish was seen sitting on a bed counting yaba tablets. A letter signed by Anwara upazila Awami League Secretary MA Malek shows that Ashish was expelled from his party position on Tuesday. According to the letter, Ashish Nath has been removed from the post of general secretary of No 8 Chatori Union Awami League on charges of breaching discipline, ideology, and underming party constituency.
