Boston College (1-0) totaled 523 yards after entering as a 42 1/2-point favorite in its first-ever meeting with Colgate (0-1). It was the Eagles’ highest scoring output since a 58-27 blowout win at Syracuse on Nov. 2, 2019. Phil Jurkovec passed for 303 yards and three touchdowns, Zay Flowers caught seven passes for 135 yards and a score and Boston College routed Colgate 51-0 to open its season on Saturday afternoon. Colgate held serve for the remainder of the quarter, outgaining the Eagles 80-20 in total yardage during that span. Jaden Williams’ 10-yard TD grab from Jurkovec with 1:20 remaining capped a 20-point quarter for BC that saw the Eagles outgain the visitors 199-26.
